Before every game, a player shuffles the tiles face down.
Each player takes nine dominoes.
The remaining dominoes are placed in the “Bone Yard.”
The player with the highest double domino plays first.
Play continues as each player takes turns playing dominoes from their hand by matching the number of spots on the dominoes in their hand with the exposed ends of the dominoes in the playfield.
Points are scored when a player causes all exposed ends of the board to total a multiple of five. For example, if a player starts with the double six and the opponent plays the six-three, the total of all ends of the board equal 15 and 15 points are scored.
Doubles are laid down across the direction of the chain and both ends count as the total of all spots on the double only if the spots are uncovered.
If a player cannot play they must pick a tile from the Bone Yard.
The round ends when a player has no more dominoes left in their hand or when none of the players can play or draw a domino.
The winner of the round is the player who has the least dominoes in their hand at the end of the round (usually zero).
The winner of each round then scores 5 points for each domino in their opponents hand above the number of dominoes left in their own hand.
The game ends when one players score is equal to 250 or more at the end of a round.
